每年十一月起，我们便开始制作闪光普茨小屋。我先向家长收取使用美工刀（X-Acto knife）的许可回执；收到回执后，再向学生讲解基础技法，包括如何在纸板上划痕以实现精准折叠、刀片的正确持握角度，以及其他安全注意事项。学生首先用纸张制作房屋模型，确保各部件能严丝合缝地组装起来。这一环节帮助他们理解对称性——因为每侧结构都需制作两份，房屋才能平稳直立；同时也让他们认识到角度的重要性，以保证房屋最终能稳固站立。

Starting in November, we begin making our putz glitter houses. I begin this after receiving permission forms from parents to use the x-acto knifes. After I receive these, I go over basic techniques with the students of how to score the cardboard for folds, proper angling of blade, and other safety tips. First students create a paper form for their houses to make sure it will all fit together. This teaches them symmetry because they have to make 2 of every side in order to make the house sit correctly. It also teaches them the importance of angles so that the house sit correctly.
Using the internet for ideas is a key in the beginning. You can also find patterns for beginning your house online. Reference is ideal for inspiration.
