A wall with graffiti

An interesting experience with mixed media has been realized by students of grade 8. We studied the contrast between light and shadow and we drew a picture with sharp shapes in black and white. First we drew the figure on tracing paper with a black marker, copying it from a photo and making a clear distinction between lights and shadows. Afterward we drew a wall on a white sheet using the black ink with a stylus pen: to give an effect like “dirty” on the wall, we have buffered the ink drawing with a damp paper towel. To complete the drawing we added an inscription in “graffiti” style, writing our names with colored felt-tip pens.
