上周，五年级学生开启了一项史诗级项目——这是我此前从未尝试过的。但自从我在SmART Class博客上看到它后，就一直想试一试！

我们是这样开始本项目的！
第一天：学生可从狗、猫和猛禽中任选一种动物。我们先从眼睛和鼻子画起。我给第一批班级上课时，让学生自行绘制眼睛和鼻子，但耗时太久，且画得偏小。于是第二批班级，我预先制作了几款眼睛与鼻子的描摹模板，效果顺畅得多！学生们先用铅笔描出轮廓，再用黑色Jack Richeson半湿润颜料勾线，下节课则用Crayola 28色油画棒填充虹膜。
大家已顺利起步！

Last week, 5th grade embarked on an EPIC project, that I've never tried before, but ever since I saw it on the SmART Class blog , I'v wanted to try it!

Here's how we started ours!
Day 1: The kids can choose between a dog, cat, and bird of prey. We started on the eyes nose first. When I taught the first classs, I let them draw the eyes and noses themselves, but it was taking FOREVER, and they were a little too small. For the next class, I made a few tracers for the eyes, and nose, and that went much smoother! We drew them with pencil, traced them with black Jack Richeson Semi Moist paint , and then the next class filled in the irises with Crayola 28 pack oil pastels.
They're off to a great start!
