The “Fauves” in our streets
After studying the work of Fauves artists and particularly the landscapes painted by André Derain, the students of 9th Grade have produced some images inspired by the style of this artist. Pupils have photographed some areas of their town (Mezzolombardo) and a photocopy in black and white was used as the basis for the interpretation of color in the landscape. The aim was to completely change the colors of the landscape using oil pastels and pure colors in sharp contrast. The drawing was then marked with a black line in a style “primitive” and “savage,” according to the principles of the pictorial style of the Fauves. And have our guys been fairly “wild”?
