只有一个你岩石花园

今年，我们为纪念一位优秀的教师——苏珊·格里菲斯（Susan Griffith），创建一座岩石花园。全校每位师生最终都将参与其中。目前，三年级、四年级和五年级学生正在绘制各自的石头。我们先用白色丙烯颜料为石头打底，再涂上一至两层彩色丙烯颜料；现在学生们正用绘画笔进行装饰。（曾在某节课尝试直接用画笔绘制图案，效果不太理想！）我强烈推荐使用绘画笔来完成精细细节的绘制。我也非常推荐选用墨西哥海滩鹅卵石作画——其他多数种类的石头表面过于粗糙不平，不适合作画。

动手前，我们向全班共读绘本《只有一个你》（Only One You）。我很喜欢播放下方的YouTube视频，并以该绘本中的插图作为范例，指导学生如何装饰自己石头上的鱼形图案。

如前所述，我们先将石头涂成白色底色，再用丙烯颜料涂上主色。

每张课桌分配一种专属颜色用于涂绘。

右侧的石头是墨西哥海滩鹅卵石。它们比其他石头光滑细腻太多啦！！

完成合作壁画菱形图案后，学生们即可开始用绘画笔在石头上添加设计图案。我们使用的是U.S. Art Supply 绘画记号笔。

我将步骤图投放在实物投影仪上，方便学生随时回顾操作流程！

后续我们将继续完善石头上的图案设计，后期还会添加眼睛，并喷涂一层透明丙烯亮光涂层。

只有一个你岩石花园

This year, we are creating a rock garden in memory of a wonderful teacher, Susan Griffith. Each person in the school will eventually contribute. Right now, 3rd, 4th, and 5th, are working on their rocks. We primed them with white acrylic paint first, gave them a coat or two of colored acrylic paint, and now the students are decorating them with paint pens . (We tried to paint designs in one class, and that didn't go so well!) I highly recommend paint pens for the small details. I also highly recommend Mexican Beach pebbles to paint. Most other kinds are WAY too rough and bumpy to have a good painting surface.

Before we started, we were given the book, Only One You, to read to the class. I liked showing the Youtube video below, and used the book for examples as to how to decorate their fish.

Like I said, we primed the rocks white, and then a color using acrylic paint .

Each table had their own color to paint.

The rocks on the right are the Mexican Beach Pebbles . They are SOOOO MUCH nicer and smoother than other rocks!!

After they finished their collaborative mural diamonds , they could start adding designs to their rocks with paint pens . We used U.S. Art Supply Paint Markers

I put this on the document reader, so they could remember the steps!

We'll continue to paint our designs on them, adding an eye later, and spraying them with a coat of clear acrylic gloss coating
